Snapchat is a picture sharing app that has gained considerable popularity with young people over recent years which allows its users to create, edit and share pictures and videos to other users of the app. The app’s focus is around capturing and sharing moments quickly; users take images and videos and send them instantly.

In recent months Snap, the company behind Snapchat, released an update to their app which gives users the ability to see the physical location of their friends on a map as well as engage with users who they do not know. This undoubtidly has caused concern for parents and carers around the world.
