After almost five years leading Clitheroe and District, Chris Harrop has decided to hand the baton over to the next person. His tenure as your District Commissioner has seen significant challenges on many fronts, and I know you will join me in thanking Chris for his hard work and leadership over the last five years. The great news is that Chris isn’t leaving us and I’m sure he’ll be around in the District for many years to come.

We’ve now completed the search and interview process and I’m pleased to say that John Carysforth has agreed to take up the reins as Clitheroe’s next Lead Volunteer, formally named District Commissioner. John will be known to many of you around the District anyway and John’s skillset in project management will be very useful as we continue our work in transforming volunteering.

To allow Chris Harrop to take a well deserved holiday, his last day as District Commissioner will be Friday 4th August 2023. John will take over from Monday 14th August 2023. During the 10 days in the middle, please direct any queries to myself and I’ll be happy to help.

I know you will join me in congratulating John on his appointment and will give him all the support you can to help grow and develop Scouting in Clitheroe even further.

Many thanks,

Chris Taylor
County Lead Volunteer (County Commissioner)
