The Big Adventure meets Skills and Chills
Would you like more adult help in your Group or section? Do you have parents or other adults connected to your Group who may like to become more involved? The Big Adventure http://www.scouts.org.uk/thebigadventure can help turn these adults into active volunteers. Research shows that the most effective way of turning adults on the edge of your Group into volunteers is to give them an active role in a camp or sleepover. So this year, why not ask your parents and other helpers to join you at Skills & Chills and play a part in our biggest adventure? It could be just the challenge they’re looking for. If they don’t want to stay for the whole weekend they could come along as a day visitor for £5 (and purchase food from the “Leaders Lodge”). Your Group or Section may feel that they can cover the cost of this recruitment initiative…it could be a worthwhile investment in the long term! Who knows it could also mean that we all get yet another badge to wear on our uniform! P.S. We still have space if anyone wants to join us for the whole weekend but get your forms in quickly…especially if you want feeding!
